For realz... These things are amazing. I can't wait to go to the NYC Urasenke Center for the May Demo, I bet they have some amazing pieces there. |

Those are all wonderful, Joel. Thanks for posting!
Does anyone on this forum have either or both a Natsume or Chaire? I've been wondering about them for a while but am not sure how practical they would be and how often I might use them. Although, when has that stopped me in the past...
Can I ask people: if you have one or other, do you use them? |

I have a Natsume that I bought fully intending to use it, but the lid is loose fitting and doesn't make a good seal so now it's just ornimental. I keep hoping i can gets some thin cork or something to add to it so I can use it for my matcha.
anyone else have this problem with the lid on the Natsume not fitting tightly?
I really want a nice Chaire but it's not in my budget yet. |

I have heard that these beautiful jars are only meant to hold matcha that is going to be consumed momentarily. They are not designed for long term storage.
Far better that the container the matcha came in, that your matcha stay in those for usage over time. |

Yes, I'd heard that too, Ryan; as far as I know, they are intended to be used during the tea ceremony but not as long-term storage solutions.
I'd just wondered who had one or other and if, as Samadina points out in his post, they become more ornamental items than anything else. Still, that doesn't stop me wanting one of each! |
