What is the black substance that I see at the bottom of my cup after I drink a cup of green tea? I can see a lot of this black stuff in the green tea that I just purchased. This wouldn't be dirt or soil would it be? It kind of has the texture of dirt.

I'm kind of paranoid because I looked in the cup that I brewed my tea in a few hours ago. When I looked I saw an extremely small bug crawling around in the substance. The bug must have crawled in there after I finished my tea right? The hot water would have killed the bug if it was to have been in the green tea I'd purchased right? It just really freaked me out for some reason. I really hope that the black powdery substance isn't soil.

Well this was scary, try to rinse the tea once or twice, drink only the second infusion.

Anyway, not unusual for gunpowder. Just a result of processing. Gunpowder is pan fired I believe.

Wait guys, I think that all tea leaves leave some particles at the bottom of the cup after brewing. I just brewed some black tea and I see those small particles.

What is this? You guys are experts, you must know.

I can't believe you guys don't know what I'm talking about when you probably brew tea every day.

Well, it's normal to have some leaves or sediment in the bottom, but I've never seen "black" sediment in a green tea.

i think i know what the problem is, you're the one using the temple of heaven or similar tea right, i found some of that in my kitchen :puke: the leaves were actually black! and were very finely ground, eww. anyway some of that probably got through the filter. just so you know that it's terrible quality green tea and i wouldn't recommend drinking it under any circumstances. try ordering some tea from o-cha, and just so you know the leaves and the brewed tea itself should both be green in colour

MAybe you should check the date of its expiry.
That may be the reason.
Try that out.
