For the longest time, I've been wanting to ask this, but never got around to it.

I have a set of spoons from Japan. They aren't anything special, I think they came with some sort of subscription to a magazine in the 50's or 60's. My question is, what does the writing on them say?

I looked into that once. They use knives, forks and spoons for western food. But they use the spoon for a few other things too. (Mainly desserts).

Edit: I don't think there's anything hard to eat with chopsticks in a normal Japanese diet. Most things are made bite sized before served.

Chopsticks are very versatile. I use a fork as a last resort.
