| A friend in Japan (whose website will go unmentioned) just sent me a couple of You Tube links. One is video of Shimizu Hokujo showing how to prepare iced green tea, using his original hand-crafted iced tea set. The other is from Shuho kiln and shows a tokoname being decorated. Finally, just off to the right hand edge of the You Tube page is a clip showing an open kyusu being pre-treated. I'm unsure what O-Cha says about posting video links. If Kevin or Chip okays it, I'll post it, but they should be easy enough to find on your own... |

The kyusu treating you mean i think is from the guy from bassaro, a japanese greentea seller located in france. He has loads of nice vids on youtube and his site.
I ordered sencha from there once, it was ok. Although for the same
price you can get better quality from o-cha. He specializes in yame gyokuro however, i have not yet ordered any gyokuro from him. |

Well, here's the one on making ice tea (in a very unique way):
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=CBuh69Gas1E&feature=email
The other, on how the kyusu are decorated, apparently has been removed; I have no idea why...
The third only showed one of the topless kyusu being "cooked" with a tea bag... |

| Ok I got the picture, but what about reuseing the leaves, with hot brew I , make 3 infusions, this way was about extracting hastefully the essence and cooling with ice than adding water, similar to the russian method of tea making (samovar method), you make a concentrated essence than you dilute it with more water, and cooling on ice, ok, so how to make the second infusion, it is too much of a waste with that amount of good tea, and by the way artistic nippon sells the teaware for 298$, that is simply too much for ice tea, they have on the kyo ware section a beautiful sometsuke houhin set, the same that maikoshop sells for 400$ it is much more worth it, and I`ll stick too hot tea even in summer. |
