I have yet to see anything I would consider to be flaming going on here, no one has crossed any lines including Britt. I also don't see where he has slung mud at anyone. He does assert his opinion in a very matter of fact type of way. I can see where an accomplished tea person might find this to be arrogant (not saying whether it is or isn't), but looking back at his posts I don't see where he went after anyone, he just stated his opinions.

Somehow I doubt this will go down in internet history as the great "three steeps versus five steeps showdown", lol.

I like to think of this as a "brotherhood"

I think Chip hit the nail on the head. As such, I encourage all of the tea chat forum to send me their finest tea's. Prove your brotherhood to me.

- Wes, send me a bag of Den's Guri.

- Chip, send me a bag of kabu from Uji.

- Space, send me a can of Matcha.

- Kevin, send me a few of each...

All other's, I encourage you to simply experiment. I'm sure I'll like it. Long live the Tea Brotherhood! Viva la brotherhood!

I often think, why did something upset me so much? Days later, I ask myself this in this case. Clearly Britt and I are on opposite poles on this issue, but one thing is very clear, we all share a passion for sencha and tea in general.

So, in this we are united.

Next time you are in eastern PA, Britt, drop me a PM, we will brew up some sencha and share our differing practices. Maybe we will enlighten each other.
