| I'm currently trying to lose weight, which tea is the best for me? I'm not too picky on the flavor, but I do prefer it to be Japanese since i've heard so much positive feedback about it. So which is the best tea for losing weight? oh and if its like 100 american dollars, count me out :p[/i] |

Green tea (or any tea) will only give you a slight metabolism boost. Japanese researchers say 70 to 80 extra calories burned after five cups. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. That would equate to one pound lost after 43 days, provided you did nothing different outside of drinking 5 cups of green tea everyday.
We do have one customer who lost over 150 pounds and drank our green tea religiously, but she also did other things like diet and exercise.
If you want to lose weight, I recommend the link at the top of this post - I put it up there because I personally have lost 22 pounds so far using that guy's method - it works. Drink green tea as a supplement, for your health, and because you like it. I wouldn't expect miracle weight loss with it. |

| I could see how using green tea as a "tool" may be very helpful in trying to lose weight. For example, you can drink a delicious cup of tea instead of the caloric snack! |

| It's a great tool to use in conjunction with with a training program and diet. The problem is, a lot of people are hyping it so that it appears that just drinking green tea alone will melt the pounds away - not the case. |

I drink lots of tea every day, mostly from Japan and Taiwan, and I will say one thing about the oolongs; when I drink mainly oolong tea, my appetite seems to be less than normal. If there is any associated weight loss, I assume it is due to the loss of appetite.
People do regularly comment that I have lost weight since drinking green tea. However, a trip to the scale says otherwise. My weight remains virtually unchanged, but these comments do indicate that the location of the weight may, in fact, have shifted to more desirable locations! |

I've seen these ads and teas, right alongside the ones that make you younger, cure cancer, allow you to quit smoking, etc.
I always liked green tea at Japanese restaraunts but didn't drink it daily until I realized the kind of garbage they put into drinks like Coke, Pepsi, and even many juices. I have always been careful to eat healthy food without too many chemicals added or too much fat and oil, but I didn't think much about what I drank. I swapped soft drinks for tea, and that's really the only reason I started drinking green tea; it had nothing to do with expectations of eternal life or weight loss. It wasn't so much about drinking a magic potion as much as it was about stopping drinking the poison marketed by the big food companies.
One thing that is regularly brought to my attention, mainly by people originally from China, is the benefit of drinking tea with oily food. They claim it passes the oil through your system so the body won't retain it. This may be very true, but I don't know if it would result in weight loss. I rarely eat deep fried or pan fried food, so I doubt this would have a weight loss affect on me personally. However, on the rare occasion when I do eat deep fried food I typically will follow up with a hot cup of green tea. |

It's amazing how people can't lose weight when it's only three simple steps.
1. Exercise
2. Eat healthy
3. Get to the point of renaming your belly to The Sencha Reservoir |

Exercise more and eat less - that's the bottom line. However, the devil is in the details. Most people don't really know how to do either properly. When you eat less, this does not mean starve yourself by going on a diet. If you don't do it right, you can actually do harm and slow your metabolism down, making it harder to lose weight.
33 pounds lost since May 1st, yes! I have about 4 or 5 more to go, the last few are the toughest. |

| Yay! Good job Kevin! I've lost about 40 lbs since last February. I'll tell you though, there always seems to be "a few more pounds" that need to be rid of. This is why instead of choosing to keep on losing weight, I've decided to work out more and pack on a few pounds of muscle. |
