My dad loves teabags spiked with matcha. Adding a bit of matcha to some expired sencha can fix the whole ordeal IMO.

I agree that a little matcha can improve things. The problem, IMO, is that these companies are using matcha as a buzz word to sell tea to an uninformed consumer, implying quality where there isn't, and in this case, jacking up the price.

I think its silly that the republic of tea is way into the whole Teaism, "sip by sip living" as kind of a zen lifestyle change which I very much agree that tea can help to facilitate, but they do silly things like put (probably) Chinese powdered sencha in bags for the lazy americans who chug down their daily green tea medicine so they won't get cancer from all the diet coke and hand sanitizer they use. I think taking the time to brew good, loose-leaf tea not only is way more "zen" than throwing a tea bag into a coffee mug, it tastes way better and therefore doesn't need to be seen as just exotic medicine. I personally hated green tea and only liked the idea of it when I only knew green tea with lemon teabags. It wasn't until I actually did what all those Ministers of Tea were preaching and spent the time learning about tea and making it the right way did I enjoy it. They should help to facilitate this type of experience instead of just trying to make money off of selling bad tea as a trendy health food.

i can't see any other reason to put matcha in a teabag other than an extremely low quality it's just pointless and i won't drink tea out of a bag me and my freind made up a pot of sencha and a mug of tetley today to compare and the tetley almost made me chuck lol it was yellow gag anyway anything that comes in a bag can't be very good quality the bag's just there to cover it up i buy loose leaf sencha and matcha from my local tea master and i can't see why anyone would put actual good matcha in bags or any tea for that matter

I have a Taiwanese friend whose father worked in the tea industry. He said that tetley, lipton, and others bought the floor sweepings from the plant. I personally think of iced tea as a completely different animal from good Japanese tea, not apples and oranges, but apples and moon rocks.
