Something I've been meaning to talk about...
I think this year is the first year the Hatsumi shincha did not come in the traditional original packaging with the Japanese woman on the front. Well, I was disappointed by this because I really enjoyed the original packaging that used to be sent out, and all the significance that goes along with it.
Granted, the leaf that was put into the old packaging is the same leaf put into the new packaging. But, speaking for myself, I really enjoyed the beauty of that original packaging. And, it gave the bag of tea a sort of authenticity.
Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, all of o-cha's tea's used to come in the original manufacturer's packaging. For example, the Miyabi used to come in a gold packaging which I really liked.
It's not that the o-cha packaging isn't attractive, it's just that I personally preferred the original packaging and the sense of authenticity it brought. I guess I appreciate the little things sometimes.
Just my perspective on the subject. |
