Hey, i was just wondering if anyone had any information on whether there could be a link between green tea consumption and spontaneous bruising. I'm going to be seeing a hematologist in a few weeks time about spontaneous bruising on my legs that has been occurring for a few months. My GP thought there might be some connection with the amount of tea i drink (1-2 (sometime 3) lots of 3 infusions, each about a cup measure). i sincerely hope this isn't the case, because i would hate the idea of having to cut back on my tea, i think it plays a key role in keeping me sane and functioning. so i would really like to go to this doctor informed, especially as it's unlikely that they would have much specific knowledge in this regard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Wow, sorry to hear that. I have never heard of tea causing this effect.

Not trying to scare you but bruising can be a symptom of diabetes.

In Chinese medicine, bruising is often caused by "Deficient Spleen Qi," which is most often caused, in turn, by excess consumption of "sweets." In this case sweets would be, not just refined sugars, but also grains and excessively processed foods. This in turn could easily lead to what might manifest as diabetes... Glad to hear you are seeking professional help, but I doubt it's the tea...
