Things you dont expect always happen around you...
Anyways, i remembered about the Saitama cancer-research institute and their research on green tea its components.
I would really be gratefull, if someone with more knowledge would answer to some of my questions:
- Could green tea be used as a curing substance, or is it just cancer preventing one?
- What green tea would be the best for a patient who uses it for curing purposes.
- Where can i learn more about its anti-cancer powers? my english is not good enough for me to understand some of the articles on the net. Also, my experience with internet is, that info can be decieving.
Thanks in advance, rui |

Hi Rui, I just wanted to let you know I moved your topic to the green tea health section.
It sounds like your questions are of a serious nature. So, I will allow those more qualified or knowledgable in this subject to answer your questions.
Good luck in your quest for TEA knowledge.

Hi Rui,
I am by no means an expert nor even knowledgeable on this subject. I think green tea would be an excellent addition to any program one is involved in to deal with cancer. Whether there is a potential that green tea on its own could cure cancer, I wouldn't know. Though, it seems to me that anything one does to strengthen their immune system is going to be an asset in the efforts to deal with cancer. And if I'm not mistaken, green tea indeed strengthens the immune system.
I'm not sure what kinds of green tea would be best for cancer. However, I think freshness would be important. Ordering directly from Japan is the best method when seeking optimal freshness. Also, because I trust the regulations in Japan way more than China, I would probably seek out exclusively Japanese green tea.
I'm not sure where you can find more information on this specific subject. But, my favorite health guru is Dr. Andrew Weil. You may find very useful things on his website. His website is www.drweil.com
Good luck to you.

Thanks to both
I agree on freshness, but it's out of my financial capabilities (i have 5 euro in my pocket ). I have to go with the teas i can buy at my teastore. They are not the best, but they are not bad also.
I was searching and searching and i think i know enough now (presuming that its possible to know enough). Not many studies have been made, and all the european and american ones are negating japanese findings. But since i dont trust western medicine (they were giving patients pills with T. sinensis extract ) i still belive green tea could be a great addition to other treatments.
Now all i have to do is find a tea, that has a lot of catechins in it. Probably Japan, right?
Any help would be appreciated. |

To get the maximum benefits, you want to drink a first harvest sencha. One bag of tea might seem like a lot but it should last you about 3 weeks, depending on how much you drink so it's not that bad. Our cheapest first harvest green tea is Kabusecha (back ordered at the moment). Another route you could consider is Powdered Sencha Green Tea, although that doesn't taste nearly as good as regular loose leaf green tea.
I never make claims that green tea cures cancer, but I can tell you for a fact that I have had more than one customer claim it helped them beat their cancer. I had one guy who was ordering Organic Green Tea Kaze like crazy for almost a year. He asked me for wholesale since he was drinking so much, and claimed it cured his prostrate cancer. I have no way of verifying if that it was the case or not, only that he believed it. There are quite a few very positive studies on this, in the West as well as in Japan. Search "BBC" and "Green Tea", I saw some good ones there. |
