Certainly, the ritual of preparing and making the tea is not without value. And something as sublime as a nice cup of tea should require some effort. Often, things of great caliber do necessitate some toiling. Life often follows this pattern....

Way I see it, technology should simplify things. Does something like this even simplify? It just looks more complicated and fussy to me with all those settings.
I would definetely prefer a Kyuusu, if nothing else for its aesthetic value.
Although I must admit I use a Zojirushi for hot water. These I would recommend because you have a constant supply of hot water, and you can keep at different temp's (around 170 190 208).
I really like it. If I've got some sencha, I'll keep it at 170 or 75...and if I want some Hojicha, I just push a button and it boils the whole thing. Very handy.
