| Has anyone heard or seen an article on if green tea can give some aid in recovering from a tramatic brain injury. My brother was in a car accident about 9 mths ago and is recovering well but is not the same and they say may never be but may soon be able to live on his own again. With all the benifits of this tea i have not seen any articles on this subject. If anyone has seen something on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your comments. |

This sounds like another "green tea as a magical substance" kind of idea. It seems that a lot of green tea vendors (not O-Cha, thank goodness) are playing up these magical qualities of tea, green tea in particular. I do not put any stock into this kind of thinking-- green tea is not a wonder drug.
Sadly, it will not replace damaged brain tissue. Perhaps the enjoyment of green tea could improve one's outlook on life, but I feel like doctors would be prescribing green tea extract all the time if it really did the things some vendors of cheap green tea claim.
I am sorry about your brother-- I truly wish green tea could repair injuries like his, but I am sad to say that I don't think it will. Still, if he learns to enjoy green tea like many people on this forum, it may bring a new source of happiness into his life, which could help him as well as your family get through the tough times ahead.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't want to give you false hopes about the benefits of green tea. It is healthy, no doubt, but probably not in the ways that you are asking about. I sincerely hope that your brother's condition improves, though, and I think it is wonderful that he has such a loving and caring family.
Best wishes,
Brent |

Dirtdigger, I've not seen any articles on this subject, but I do agree that adding the ritual of brewing and drinking green tea of the quality provided on this site, to your brother's life just might be to his benefit. I know that it is a tremendous comfort in my life.
With your permission, I would like to add your brother and your family to my prayer list. Only with your permission, though.
