I am relatively new to Japanese green teas.
I have purchased the daily Sencha from o-cha and am enjoying it very much.
I would like to experiment with the 'next level' Sencha.
Which one might that be?
I am not interested in one with a 'grassier' taste - perhaps one with a more 'potent' taste.
Thank you.

I can't recall the nature of the daily sencha as to the level of its grassiness.
The sencha's I've had that I've noticed were not on the grassy side yet potent have been: Yutaka Midori and Hatsumi.
The Fukamushi-cha is also not very grassy in my opinion, but I prefer the above more.
Kabusecha, I like a great deal and it has some grassiness. I find it to be on the mild side though.
Shincha is around the corner... If you like "potent" you would probably find Hatsumi shincha very interestnig. It has a real potency to it. Though you can order the Hatsumi now (standard, but not shincha version) and it's still really good (some may prefer it over the shincha version). In fact, now that I think about it, that would be my first recommendation for you considering what you've asked. |
