|
|
I am new to matcha in the last couple of months, and I really enjoy my matcha tea in traditional preparation, but have recently discovered using matcha with rice milk, banana, agave nector as a sweetner, and ice in a blender. Absolutely delicious!!!
I am looking for a good quality matcha, that will give me all the health benefits etc.?
I can really tell the difference since including matcha in my daily routine.
I am a new matcha convert!! |

Hi,
As an ingredient, our Uji Matcha "Kiri no Mori" would work very nicely for this. Avoid powdered sencha or food grade qualities however, it won't taste the same. |

| Thank you, question are all of your matcha teas "1st Cuts"? I looked at the product detail and it doesn't say if it is first or second cut. |

| You must mean first harvest, a.k.a. first flush. All matcha that we sell are absolutely from the first harvest, however we don't really mention that as it is/or should be the norm for ceremonial grades of matcha. There are lower grades (food grade matcha) which is what you are typically getting when you buy a green tea smoothy somewhere. I imagine those are probably not from the first harvest, or even from Japan. The key thing you want is freshness as green tea doesn't store for long periods of time. |

Thank you for clairifying "first harvest vs. second harvest". I had purchased both kind online from a company to compare the two, and they were both from Japan, but it was getting time to reorder and discovered your website, and so I placed an order yesterday with you, so I am looking forward to my first order. I appreciate the information that you on your site, and it's the only place where "freshness & shelf life" has been mentioned. The previously mentioned product came in an airtight bag with a tin can, I then found some locally, and I purchased it from a nutrional store and I was surprised that it was sold in a jar the way you would find instant tea stored in. Who knows how old that stuff is??? By the way this stuff was a pale green vs. the nice deep green of the product from Japan.
Thanks again for information! |

Yeah, I'm sure the vast majority of them don't want to mention it, heh. It really matters too. We used to run this from Arizona for the first 5 years, but even then we had all of our teas air freighted in from Japan at considerable expense. I don't think anyone Stateside is currently doing that, or at least that I am aware of. |
