Does anyone take those green tea extract capsules.
The "New Chapter" brand "Green & White Tea" organic capsules are really good in my opinion.
I've also tried the "Spring Valley" brand which are just OK.
There's also "Nature's Valley" and "Nature's Bounty" brands which I haven't tried. They're probably just average.
I'd like to hear opinions from others. |

| I'm wondering what you actually mean when you say they're "really good." |

| For example, I mean that you can really feel the positive effects of the "green & white tea" capsules as compared to the less expensive green tea capsules available at most pharmacies or grocery stores throughout the U.S. |

Hi T,
Please understand, I'm not trying to give you a hard time with this. Still, I'd like to have you add some flesh to the bones. Now the question becomes, what do you mean by positive effect? Be specific and please tell me not only the sensation, but also what makes you think it is positive... Thanks! |

I don't know. I'm looking to get other opinions about green tea capsules and see what other people think/feel.
I just noticed a remarkable difference the first few times I've taken them. I think my tolerance has built up for them in the past 5-6 days now. |

| Okay. Let me try this one last time. If you notice "a remarkable difference" then please remark on it. How do you feel. What do you like about the capsules? Do you feel a caffeine rush or something? What were you looking for when you bought them? Would you buy them again, and if so, why? When you write that your tolerence built up, what's different between the first few time you ingested them and now? What do you feel or not feel? |

I hate to say this but the "good" feeling is probably just a caffiene rush. I used to work at whole foods and had to attend training sessions for each brand. New chapter is a high quality brand - but its still a matter of opinion when it comes to placing a real value on pills. Green tea pills are really just a natural form of caffiene- they concentrate it by 100x or so, but unfortunately all of the antioxidants and good stuff tends to get lost in the process. It is MUCH better to drink green tea in its natural form- whether you are trying to lose weight or just be healthier. Its kinda like taking broccoli pills- you arent going to get any of the nutrients that way. |

| Oh really you worked there at Whole Foods? I shop there all the time. That's where I get my New Chapter brand capsules. I don't even use those green tea extract capsules any more. I like the New Chapter "Every Man" multi vitamins. I get a good feeling from those. What do you know about those? Also I like the New Chapter Vitamin C Complex vitamins. I take the Vitamin Shoppe brand of those. They are manufactured by New Chapter actually and cost less. It's the same product marketed through the Vitamin Shoppe stores. |

New chapter is one of the higher end vitamins, though I am not so sure about the whole culturing in soy thing.
"All of our vitamins and minerals are cultured in organic soy and whole foods using nature’s most prized and studied probiotics, featuring Lactobacilli acidophilus, bifidus, rhamnosus, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae"
It is good that they try and make their suppliments from whole foods- which is 100% better then conventional methods. It means you are (in theory) getting all of the micro/phytonutrients as if you ate the food in raw form. While I cant say if they can keep all of them intact through processing the idea is sound.
Conventional suppliments are made in a laboratory- only the core vitamins are supplied in concentrated and manmade form. I should also note that more is not always better- you dont need 5000% of the daily value of anything.
Another thing New Chapter has in their favor is the fact that you can take their suppliments on an empty stomach. I dont know exactly how they managed to successfully get the pills past the stomach and into your intestines (where the nutrients are absorbed) but I am not an expert . I do notice that there is less "neon" urine that generally follows other pills. That just means you arent using the vitamins for whatever reason and you are just passing them along.
So basically, yes they are a good brand and if you can afford to spend extra to use their products I would do it. Sorry Kevin I got off on another tangent |
