| After years of drinking nothing but grocery store green tea, I've decided to get serious and buy some fresh tea leaves and a real tea pot. I've been thinking about getting one from this website, but I don't know which one to get. I want something as cheap as possible, but I also want it to make good tea. Also I want to know what glaze does to the tea. Does it affect the taste at all? |

Hi,
There is a feature in the cart which allows you to compare different models and products, you click the ones you wish to compare. That said, all of the teapots will work and all were designed specifically for brewing green tea. Some work a little better with gyokuro than others, should you decide to go that route later. Anyway, I think the cheapest one we sell which works just fine for any green tea would be the Tokoname Teapot Red

Hi linzoy,
My girlfriend works professionally with ceramics and glazes so I ran your question by her and she said that a modern glaze should not leech anything into the tea and should never affect the taste in any way. I think you're safe with any good lead-free teapot, and I'm sure the ones on this site are lead-free. |
