I'm looking to get more into Japanese cooking.
I eat Miso soup and Udon noodles, drink sencha (green tea), and consume sea vegetables. I'm pretty new at "cooking" in general, so any basic tips/ideas/sites about Asian cooking would be good to read.

| Don't know what country you're in T, but if it's the US, you can walk into almost any big bookstore, go to the bargin section and find a number of good (if not outstanding) illustrated cookbooks, at least one or two covering basic Japanese cuisine... |

| Hi, yes, I'm in the states. I live in the Chicago suburbs. I have yet to get into a bookstore to look at Japanese/Asian cookbooks. I actually learn a lot by reading this site. I've saw a Japanese cookbook recently at a nearby Asian market and another book today at a regular grocery store. I haven't had time to spend at a good bookstore or local library in at least several weeks. |

...if you ever get a chance to see the original Iron Chef series...I highly recommend it. A lot of the food prepared was fusion...but a great show filmed in Japan and dubbed in English.
When it aired, it was one of my fav shows. |
