|

| What's your strategy? When I say a lot of tea, I mean somewhere in the neighborhood of 32oz (the size of a regular big Thermos). I heat up water in a big pyrex measuring cup, steep the tea, and then use a strainer to remove the tea leaves when pouring it into my thermos. It works, but can be a bit clumsy. Anyone have any other approaches they'd like to share? |

Hi,
I hope your not heating that water in the microwave. Believe it or not, it makes a difference. I used to do that. Appearantly, more oxygen is released from the water when you microwave it, making the tea flat. I noticed that the foam on top of kabusecha was there when using boiled water, and none was there when using microwaved water.

| Honestly, where I heat up the water all depends on how much time I have in the morning before I go wherever. I tend to be not great at things in the morning, so I do generally use the microwave, but I have noticed the difference between tea made with that water and that made with water heated on the stove. Not earth-shattering, but definitely there. |
