Well I have just recently gotten into Green tea.
I know from my Childhood though that Most teas, even the Ceylon my grandmother used to be so found of, along with orange juice and other citrus drinks, and even Coffee have Diuretic properties.
so drinking a lot of tea may cause a lot of water weight to be lost, and keep you in the restroom for a while...

I have also recently started drinking green tea. I am still learning alot and have made some mistakes (brewing and such) along the way. I am also currently dieting to shed some extra weight and I have only added green tea to my diet only because green tea compliments my new health lifestyle with all its wonderful healthy benefits and antioxidants.
Anytime someone takes on the huge challenge of losing weight should not use green tea as a crutch to lose the weight. Nothing can replace healthy eating and exercise and I am extremely wary of any company who tries to sell their product by insisting that you lose weight by using it. I commend o-cha for taking a stand on that subject and for not making a easy buck by advertising their product in that form.
Btw I have shed over 32 pounds and I owe all my weight loss to the change in the way I eat and my exercise program. Good luck to anyone else who is making healthy changes to their lifestyle. =)
Congratulations on your weight loss. I think green tea really goes well with your workouts but like you said, drinking it alone and doing nothing else different won't have much effect.
