While attending a class in Kyoto recently I was introduced to a great water heater. Made by Zojirushi of Japan they not only have a dechlorination cycle but are adjustable for temperature. Found out after my return I really didn't have to ship one home. They are available in the states, web site zoirushi.com. Sure beats a pot sitting on the kerosene heater!
I've known of these myself. And in fact I live near both a China Town and Little Tokyo.... So I could drive to a store if I wanted to in order to pick one up. Maybe someday I will buy one of these as an addition to my tea supplies as they certainly look super convenient. I was not aware there are ones adjustable for temperature. I've only known of one that either has close to boiling or there is a fancy one that has 3 water heaters at 140 175 and 208 if I remember correctly. As of now I use an electric kettle which has an adjustable knob for heating which I find very convenient.

I am using a reverse osmosis unit--one that has heating and cooling settings built in. I have not had a chance to get a water thermometor yet, but the tea that I have been making with it tastes great! I ran out of water recently and had to boil my water on the stove top instead of using this unit for my hot water, and the tea wasn't as good. I'm not sure what it is, but it is working for me.
The thing that I like about this is that if you buy the big 5 gallon bottles of water that fit the water units, you use this as drinking water also. It makes brewing green tea really convenient as well.
