Hi, i'm new to this sight and this is my first post so go easy on me, heh.

Ok, i just placed my first order from o-cha, it was the Yutaka Midori. I've been reading the posts, and i've been seeing a lot of people saying the Yutaka Midori is the best, and i've seen a lot of people saying the Miyobi is the best, so i'm wondering, what is the best to YOU in your opinion, and make sure to explain why.

Yutaka Midori!

It has a very grassy taste, yet its not too astringent. It has an amazing green colour (especially on the second infusion). Also, YM can produce very stunning first, second, and even third infusion. It isn't hard to brew either.

Yutaka Midori has just the right combination of all the major elements that make a fresh, bold and wonderful green tea.

The Miyabi is also very good and I've had it a few times, but still, I prefer the Yutaka Midori.

I think the Miyabi is more aromatic and has more flavor. The YM is greener and still has plenty of both. They're both great, just different.

I always categorized the tea taste by agrotypes, so I can recognize a few teas that are from the same plant, and most of the teas share some caracteristics, but for now two of the teas I`ve tried were unique in taste and aroma, weren`t similar to none, the Y.M. that had a citrusy aroma, and by the way the only downside of deep steaming is that the taste is a bit sacrificed for intensity and aroma, and the other was Seiryu from Horaido, that had a similar taste to dry salted algae (seaweed), and this taste was kept till the last infusion so it was a basic taste, not an aquired aroma, or something ephemere.

Is Yutaka Midori better than Miyabi? Is Miyabi better than Yutaka Midori?

Question: Is Larry Bird better than Michael Jordan?

Answer: Both Yutaka Midori and Miyabi rock. Miyabi is a very grassy tea though - so if you don't like grassy, miyabi isn't your cup. if you DO like grassy, miyabi is what you've been searching for, your entire life.

Yutaka Midori is great, Miyabi is great. Sometimes I like YM more, sometimes I like Miyabi more. The shincha of both were amazing.
