| how do you guys clean your chakins, i don't want to ruin mine, but it's getting kinda brownish |

| Okimasasensei said you can bleach them, though I don't think that was the traditional way. Traditionally there was of course a prescribed method of boiling the chakin. |

I've tried bleaching... didn't work so well. After 4 or 5 bleachings, my chakin sort of desitegraded |

| Sorry, he said just a drop or two of bleach, not soaking it in bleach or anything like that. Myself, I find just boiling them for a while makes them sterile at least; we never buy real bleach anymore, just colour safe anyways. They are brown or cha-iro 茶色 as they say but that's OK. |

Maybe it is just woven from the same cloth as the "emperor's cloths?" (H. C. Anderson).  |

Yeah, I'll be honest, I think I could have done a better job at looking after that chakin then I did. I probably used too much bleach or something because it was a really good quality!
Anyway, I got a new one (about 4 months ago) and haven't bleached it and its still in perfect condition. |

| i don't think i'll try bleaching mine either way, it's not that bad. and i don't want to have to get a new one. |
