I've been making iced Sencha tea for the last little while and I was wonder, has anyone ever tried to make iced Gyokuro?

yes, it works great. I boil a lot of water at the same time, let it reach the temp i'm looking for. pour in the gyokuro and steep it, then strain it into a container and let it cool for a while

Yes, I did mean this way, sorry for the bit of confusion, but boiling and letting it cool sounds like a interesting way too!

They do this in Korea all the time. I'll have to ask my g/f if there is any specific method (she's Korean) but as far as I know you just let it steep in the iced water for 30 minutes to an hour and drink.

The flavor is not bitter and is very subtle. Sometimes almost hidden depending on the type of tea.

Health benefits may also be reduced but I guess it beats heat stroke in the midst of summer.

I'm sure the Japanese have a way to do it as well but all of my Japanese friends don't care enough about tea to learn how to properly brew it. I should ask their parents when I go to Japan Very Happy
