While ordering some mugi-cha from a vendor on Amazon recently, I ordered some other teas to try out.
I was very pleasantly surprised by one of them, a deep steamed sencha called extra-fancy sencha-aobi.
From the English on the back, it is made in Japan and packed by Yamama Masudaen Co., 1687 Kamiasahina Omaezakishi Shizuokaken Japan.
It tastes closer to fukamushi than o-cha's daily sencha, very green with lots of tiny green particles.
By treating it like fukamushi (65 seconds first steep when kettle just starts making noise, 30 seconds steeps 2-5, 60 seconds on steep 6), I can get 5-6 good steeps out of it using my handy teapot from o-cha.
Does anybody know anything more about this company or this tea? |

I'm a daily Japanese green tea drinker, though I don't know if I have quite the palette of the experts on this site.
I've bought 'Yamama Masudaen' products too from probably the same seller (ebay ID: inpisa) and have been satisfied. I found him initially because I wanted a decent product at a good price, and that is exactly what he offers.
I know some disparage Konacha as being a low-grade byproduct, but I have really liked my Yamama Konacha 'bamboo grade' tea. It's got a great, sweet flavor to it.
I liked one of his sencha bags too. I should say though that this tea is not for you if you want super high grade excellent tea. I've also purchased tea from Teavana (a chain like Starbucks but for tea) and I found their Sencha to be just a shade fresher and tastier. But certainly not better enough to justify the price (like 10x higher).
I'd like to try some of O-Cha's product when I run out of my 'Yamama'. |

When you are ready, I highly recommend my 2 faves this year from O-Cha. Yutaka Midori is mind melding. The Fukamushi Supreme is indeed supreme. I tried a bunch of fukamushi products this year and found the O-Cha offering to be the top of its class.
Either of these would be great first tastings. The Daily is less costly second flush sencha if you want to try something cheaper. |

| I don`t trust ebay vendors, and online grocery stores, there are a lot of vendors and japanese teashops that aren`t exclusively online shops, that sell tea in japan, I think they are more trustworthy, I wouldn`t buy something just for trying out, something like yamama - hoochie mama tea. |
