Hi all,
since Chip pointed out that wikipedia wasn't all that accurate in its tea-related pages, I was wondering if the following brewing method for Kukicha is a correct one, or if you brew Kukicha in radically different way.
| Wikipedia wrote: | | For best results, kukicha is steeped in water between 70°C to 80°C (155°F - 180°F) for three minutes (otherwise, as with all green teas, the result will be a bitter, unsavoury brew). |
I'm somewhat sceptical at the three minutes, wont that make it bitter already? Well anyway, off to make some Kukicha, guess I'll find out whether three minutes is too much or not...
Thanks in advance

The second infusion (instantly poured) tasted a lot better. Sigh at wikipedia. 3 minutes. <agitated italian accent>Forget about it!</agitated italian accent>
[edit]: to the admins, sorry for posting this in the wrong place, this question was more suited for the brewing green tea subforum |

I use the instant pour a lot for the second infusion with sencha and it has worked out very well. |
