| The problem is, I have about a zillion open bags of tea here at the moment. One other confession I have to make - I've been drinking a lot of "hyakunencha" lately, lol. I usually drink that one iced. |

I have to admit, I had to google that one. Interesting and I don't know how I never heard of it considering how long it has been around.
A zillion bags open...you need to talk to Ryan. He helped break me of this habit. I used to always have a bijillion bags open. |

It is a rather popular Japanese herbal tea which contains from 20-33 or more herbs, mushrooms, roots, etc. It's supposed to be really good for you. I *have* heard good reports about it being especially good for the skin. Supposedly, comes from an ancient recipe. Sometimes they sell it in plastic bottles ready to drink but that is kind of hit and miss around where I live. Usually, however, it is in teabags. There is one main company that sells it but lately, it's getting somewhat hard to find in my local drug stores.
Tastes and looks very similar to houjicha. I've only just recently stated drinking it so I can't give any reports on it just yet. Tastes good iced though!
I "might" sell it, haven't decided yet. If you are interested, raise your hand. |

I'm curious, yes, but at the same time I could forget about it by tomorrow. |

I might try it. Too bad it tastes like houjicha, though. |

Speaking of "good for the skin" the Hou De blog just posted an article about a Taiwanese dermatologist whose skin makes his female patients jealous. His secret? Drinking 4000-5000cc of tea per day! That's well over one gallon each day. He must have to schedule his patients appointments in between running to the toilet. Guang of Hou De noted that the teapot this guy was holding in the picture is bigger than what he uses as a kettle.
I accidently bought some kind of herbal Japanese tea once at the local Asian market and it tasted so bad I threw it in the trash. If O-Cha were to carry it, I'd try it once but I doubt I'd be willing to cut out much of my sencha or matcha time. |

| I think I'd be more interested in being able to buy some O-Cha quality genmaicha and houjicha. |

Better yet... I wish the original "Asa Giri" sencha was still available. I didn't order that one in time to try it... and then it was was gone.
Fukamushi Supreme sure is incredible once again this year, though. This stuff is a gift to mankind. |

The original asa-giri was an attempt to beat my current Miyabi. That experiment failed so while it was good, it wasn't as good as our current Miyabi.
The new asa-giri is quite good, people don't recognize it for what it is however. It's karigane gyokuro and I personally find it quite tasty. There was a thread going on somewhere about "Daily Gyokuro" and I think this fits the bill perfectly. Cheaper than regular gyokuro but still, quite nice. |
