| Hello, I am new to the forums. New to making my own green tea (even pre bagged). I bought some Numi Temple of Heaven's green tea today. Came home couldnt wait to try it out. I put 2 cups of water into a pan. Let it warm up for 2-3 minutes(almost boiling, as I've read thats the right way) added the tea bags. Wasnt noticing anything going on the water stayed clear, was only going to leave in there for 2 minutes but ended up in there for 4-5 till it was green. I add 3/4 cup of sugar to a pitcher. Poured the tea into the pitcher took the tea bags out. Stirred. And it came out a light green. Tasted very good. But on the back of the box it shows a much darker tea. Did I do anything wrong, did the tea come out right, or wrong? |

| well i assume temple of heaven is refering to gunpowder green tea which tends to be a little darker than average green tea (and should taste a little on the earthy/smoky side), the only thing i can think of is you might have used a little too much water (tea bags are usually meant for a mug's worth of tea) if you dont think its as dark as it should be, but ive noticed that pictures of brewed tea can be really different than the actual thing sometimes. really, if it tastes good to you, youre making it right. |
