| I have no proof to offer, but my own experience has convinced me that I am much less likely to get a cold when I am drinking plenty of green tea - even when everyone around me is coughing and sneezing. |

The pretty severe head cold I had when I posted on the 18th is completely gone now, with zero after-effects. A few years ago, before I drank green tea daily, this would have dragged on in one form or another for another week or so. I used to get two colds per year, very severe, now I get one every year and a half or so and they come and go much faster. They no longer hang around making me miserable for an extra week or two.
To me, the benefits of green tea in fighting colds are obvious. I do not take any type of medication. I just drink the tea. Besides, sencha and matcha taste a lot better and don't have the side affects of Big Pharma's cures. The tea might actually be more expensive than cold medicine, though, especially if dousing it with large quantities of Uji Matcha Manten! |

I am living proof... of beauty, intelligence, and wisdom.
Last week everyone in my house was sick. I, being the good student, stayed in studying in the adenovirus infested fortress. Sniffles, sneezes, and unfiltered coughing galore. Somehow I wasn't sick while they were, a few days later I had the sniffle for a couple hours, sneezed a few times and felt a sore throat. I was scared. I consulted with Ed, drank a few bowls of guricha, and felt instantly better. The next day, I was back in business. |

| Uh, I hate to report this, but despite my best efforts and drinking bucket loads of high quality green tea, I've got a wicked cold! Like, I haven't had a cold in a long, long time but finally got one. Green tea didn't help with this one, *. Perhaps it would have been worse? Maybe it won't last as long? We shall see. |

| If everyone around you is sick and you're exposed, I'm not sure anything would prevent you from catching it. Hopefully all the tea will keep it manageable. |

| Seriously, everyone around me has been sick for months and I was the only one who wasn't. Guess I pushed my luck! |
