I read several of the threads about where to get white tea from, but I was wondering if there was a site that everyone kind of agrees on.

The only white tea that I've tried and liked enough to reorder is the 2007 Taiwan Organic-Cert (MOA) "Bai Lu - Egret" White Tea from Hou De Fine Asian Art. It is the first white tea they have sold on their site due to safety concerns.

Hou De is the only vendor I trust enough to purchase tea from Mainland China and the only one I will purchase Yixing pots from (only sells older used pots, but very high quality). I use Hou De exclusively for oolongs as well. The majority of my purchases from this site are various Taiwanese oolongs, including aged and high mountain varieties, but I liked their white tea enough to have purchased it several times. For me, Hou De is to Chinese and Taiwanese tea what O-Cha is to Japanese tea; exclusive.

I think Adagio's is pretty good, but I'm somewhat upset with them by their lack of quality control.

Right now, I'm thinking of ordering some early spring 2008 Silver Needle from Yunnan Sourcing LLC.

I've only ordered tisanes from Chinese eBay vendors, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't. The fact that he took pains not to misrepresent his wares seems like a good sign.
My Taiwan "white" showed up today, but my initial results were disappointing. This could be the result of the tea's not having been processed well, its not being flavorful to begin with, being old, improper brewing on my part, or a combination of some or all of these factors. I'm going to try more leaf with longer infusion times in slightly hotter water the next go-round. The used leaves will soak overnight in some water, so I'll have a better idea tomorrow morning if there's anything to be had in them.

I've never really been that taken with whites bought online, not so much so that I won't order it again and more because they usually seem like if they were only a little better/fresher/delicate etc then it could be really good tea.

I don't drink a lot of white tea but over the past few months it has been dominated by Indian white tea from removed - please follow guidelines. They have not been astounding but it is nice to be able to appreciate the flavour of Indian tea without resorting to the concentrated hit of darjeeling or asaam blacks. The best white tea I've had in a long while was the Morning Dew from TChing but this was far more akin to green tea in many ways than the white tea it is classified as.....................

I had the morning dew, too, and it was phenomenal. Unfortunately the price they're asking for it now is more than I'd pay for any white tea. I have just a little bit left; I think I am going to go drink it now.

There is a lot of cheaper silver needle floating around out there, makes me nervous for some reason.

I saw some organic silver needles that caught my eye...
