I am having a problem when I brew my matcha. After sipping it for a few minutes all the ground leaves settle to the bottom leaving me with a very thick tasting tea at the end (I am making it thin). It seems to be doing this every time. Does anyone know if this is normal or has anyone had the same experience?

Assuming you have a chasen and have adequatley whisked your matcha into a frothy mix...

First, matcha never dissolves, so you are simply creating a suspension of matcha powder in hot water, so adequate whisking is essential. It should be quite frothy.

Second, I usually will gently swirl the matcha beverage as I am drinking it, between sips. This keeps it pretty well blended and prevents settling. This way I do not feel like I have to "chug" my matcha and beat the settling of suspended particles.

Chip... That may be all well and good for you but I'm in the Matcha Fraternity.... And well, you would never make it.

I sit there with the matcha all made and ready and everyone around chants "CHUG CHUG CHUG!"

And so I do.
