Has anyone tried the new Kame-Giru Gyokurou? It had an excellent fragrance, but to be honest, I didn't notice a difference in taste between it and the other Gyokuro's. Maybe it's subtle or maybe I haven't perfected my technique. Just curious what others out there thought of the high-grade Gyokurou's. Did anyone try Yume no Uki-hashi
By the way, let me just add my nomination for Asa-Giri as the best bargain Gyokuro! It really is an affordable tea and still quite comparable in taste. I highly recommend it if you want Gyokuro but don't want to go broke!

I had the same impression, but it was because of the water I used. I guess the water was leveling off some of the fragrances.
With the water I am currently using, I am able to distinguish between the gyokuros although I won't be able to put words on it.
I won't say the Kame-Giru Gyokuro is far better than the other O-cha gyokuros I have tried (Uji Gyokuro "Fujitsubo" and Uji Gyokuro Gyoku-Hou), but diversity is a plus: when you drink always the same tea, it gradually becomes less tasty. |

| Interesting asessment olivierco... Generally, I try to drink a different tea each day. Well, I only alternate between two different ones for each session, but I think it helps keep it interesting. |
