In perusing O-Cha's teapot offerings I have encountered a designation on some that they are especially good for X where X is "brewing gyokuro" or similar language to the same effect.

My question is what particular characteristics of a tea pot give it this designation?

Thanks

It mostly has to do with how wide or tall a teapot is. The real wide ones are good for gyokuro, the tall ones for deep steamed green tea. It doesn't mean you can't brew one in the other, only that one may be better suited to it.

Thank you for your reply! I had noticed that the ones so designated seemed somewhat more squat then those that weren't but I'm very new to green tea so I wanted to know what the thinking was.
