...some studies have concluded that milk added to tea reduces its benefits.

I just cannot imagine adding milk to hot green tea from the stand point of taste...especially Japanese green tea.

However there are cold matcha drinks that include milk products that can be quite good.

Ok, I tried it without milk. Does sencha tea help relax muscles. I am feeling a tense muscle being relaxed in my back.

Green tea contains caffeine...but it also contains properties that can relax the body and mind...plus the "experience" of enjoying fine green tea can be relaxing.

Mostly I drink Matcha, so I don't use milk, but i have had occassion to make a Matcha Smoothie, and I use "SILK" brand Soy Milk, it comes out rather good.....

Just a thought from the Peanut Gallery

Never tried macha yet.

I use automatic drip for my tea. Maybe one day I may try macha. I noticed some of the recipes.

I like the Matcha, but i also have the time to actually make it.
Not that a whole ceremony is needed, but it take some time to get the water to the proper temp, then warm the bowl and dry it, then spoon in the needed amount (there are recommendations but i found it mostly trial and error) then whiking it to a nice froth then relaxing and drinking it.

its a tad more involved than infusing a whole pot of Sencha

I have been a bit high strung for a long time, so performing my own little tea ceremony a few times a day helps me relax and unwind....

per forming my own litle tea ceremony does relax me....

the way i warm the bowl is like this:
after boiling my water, i pour about 2 ounces into the Matcha Bowl, then set the teapot aside to cool off a bit.
I take the bowl and swish the hot water around until the whole bowl is warm (cold porcelin tends to make the tea clump), i dump the water out and then take a soft cloth and wipe the inside of the bowl dry before putting in hte powdered matcha.
