There's a 'green tea diet'? How disturbing… well that's wasn’t a lot of help.
Actually I have lost weight since I started drinking green tea- then again I’m 19, so who knows why my body does anything- but personally I think that's because I drink a large quantity of green tea everyday (at least 9 cups, so that’s... 72 ounces, normally more) has reduced snacking on things I really shouldn't eat, in other words, when I’m peckish I drink tea instead of eating biscuits. There hasn’t been any conclusive link between green tea consumption and weight loss, except that it increase the metabolism, though not necessarily by any significant amount (i.e. it hasn’t been proven that eating an apple wouldn’t have the same effect). If it is some miracle property of tea which causes people to lose weight then I imagine that it would be the quality of the tea your drinking, not the brand, that matters. If it's just the diet change (my theory) then I suppose all that really matters is what your going to drink, however I don’t see any point not drinking high quality tea, given the other known benefits and the simple pleasure that can be gained (which is really what matters to me) |

I'm re-thinking my stand on green tea and losing weight. Why? Well, I just got some rather dramatic photos from a long time customer of ours. She lost over 150 pounds and says that drinking our tea had "A LOT" to do with it.
I'll be posting this soon... |

I have been drinking green tea for a while now. Of all the teas that I have drank I think that the Houjicha curves my appetite more than any. I just discovered this, but it really seems like after a couple of cups of Houjicha that I don't even want food. It could be the roasted, nutty taste I suppose....not sure? All I know is I have less appetite after drinking it. This tea is one of the cheapest from O-Cha also. I didn't start drinking tea to lose weight, but I just happened to notice this, and it may not be the same for you. I thought I would just let you know.
Hope this helps! |
