I had to try some of the "good stuff". As it just so happens, there's a Japanese green tea shop ran by a Japanese tea master in my town! (The odds of this has to be crazy. I don't live in a big city, the population of my town is about 4,500 people).
The tea master gave me a sample of his green tea and it was truly amazing. This was my first encounter with true, authentic Japanese green tea. |
i started drinking tetley like a week before trying the tea master's tea. =P but if i remember correctly you went there with the idea of buying a tea set, and left with tea |

Hmm, I'm not sure because I bought my teaset right after buying the Sencha from the health food store; I didn't have any brewing equipment suitable for Japanese tea at the time. I drank the health food store's Sencha for about a month before trying the "good stuff". Although I do remember looking at a teaset there (I think it was the one you later bought) but I can't remember why seeing how I just bought one. |

| The first time a tried green tea seriously was when I was 8 yrs old. It was my birthday and me and my family took me to a sushi bar. I was excited because I had never had sushi before. They gave green tea with your meal so I got some but had never tried it before or heard of it. The experience was most spiritual for me. Makes me happy thinking about it. It felt warm in my hands and warmed me up since it was a cold fall night. It happened to be a sencha. AH I get lost in the moment. |
